Finish

When your computer shows that the notification was approved, you're done. You can close both the browser and the app.  Your app will stay registered to this phone unless you switch to a new phone, reset your phone, or delete the app. If any of these happen, you'll need to repeat this setup.

Troubleshooting

  • The QR code won't scan
Increase your computer's screen brightness, clean your camera lens, and move your phone closer or farther away. Make sure camera access is allowed for Microsoft Authenticator.
  • I didn't get the test notification
Confirm that your phone has Wi-Fi or cellular data and that notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator. Try opening the app and refreshing.
  • I have a new phone
Install Microsoft Authenticator on the new phone and complete this setup again. If you no longer have the old phone, contact the IT Service Desk so they can help reset your MFA.
